Question:

Definitely the bike ride helped. If not the actual weight loss then my motivation to do what works. I also earned activity points during the week working out on my Pilates machine. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Linda, Congrats on your success, that bike ride last week must have helped push you on to GOAL!!! Debbie Week 74 WI: 145 lbs Weight change since WI: -1.8 lbs I’ve finally broken through the impasse of the last couple of months. Today I reached my WW goal weight of 145, the top end of the range for my height and age. I think I’m in a state of shock. Ww Online immediately added 4 more points to get me started on Maintenance. I thought once I got to goal, the online tool would let me set my own daily points. So far, that isn’t the case. I may need to spend more time on the site to figure it out. Anyway, I don’t think I’m really done with the weight loss part. My BMI is still in excess of 25, and I’m still carrying quite a bit of weight around my middle that’s more than loose skin. But my ultimate personal goal? I honestly don’t know. I’ve got mini-goals set down to 126. More than anything I want to be at a weight I can comfortably and realistically maintain (within 2 lbs). For now, I’m going to focus on reaching my next mini-goal of 142. Response:

Thanks Julie. I’ve thought of myself as overweight since high school– for more than 30 years. You’re right, thinking of myself as normal weight will take a while. In the meantime, I’m going to stick with my 20 daily target points and see where that takes me. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Mucho congratulations Linda!  It will sink in after a while that you really are "normal" :)  I’m still carrying some weight around my middle too, but getting lower *and maintaining it* seems to be an issue, so I’ve made peace with my remaining fat and am happy where I am.  A clothing allowance is a good idea though – gives you some peace of mind.

Mucho congratulations Linda! — Julie. 93.5/72.3/74 (WW)/72 (Personal) kg 205.7/159.0/162.8 (WW)/158 (Personal) lb Here’s our FAQ: http://www.didian.com/asdww/ and welcome notice: http://www.geocities.com/welcomenotice/index.html

It doesn’t let you set your own points?  That seems kind of strange.  What works for one may not work for another. Anyway, I don’t think I’m really done with the weight loss part. My goal weight is 150, but whether I’ll be happy with that or not I don’t know.  I think that I’ll probably want to get more into the 140 range.  When I was 18-20 I was in the 130-135 range, but heck I’m not 20 anymore! For now, I’m going to focus on reaching my next mini-goal of 142.

I think just setting the mini-goals and getting to that weight then stopping when you’re comfortable makes alot of sense.  There’s no point in setting your goal at an unrealistic weight and never getting there.  That can cause discouragement and failure.  You certainly don’t need that! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – It’s the best day of my life! — Linda P week 74: 232/145/WW goal 145/personal goal ? next mini-goal: 142 (90 lbs total loss) started WW 22-Feb-2003 | 10% target: 1-May-2003 5′4" | 50 | F

Thanks Lee. I’m repeating myself but it’s just so good to have you back. After I posted, I went back to the Web site and found the right place to change my points. I’ve now reset my daily target points back down to 20 so I can continue tracking points for weight loss. Earlier when I tried resetting my points, I ended up someplace that looked like the old Winning Points program. When they overhauled the site to the Flex Plan program, they obviously didn’t remove all the old pages or the old links to them. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I am so proud of you, and I think you can adjust it after six weeks but hopefully Joyce will tell you, I am just so pleased for you Week 74 WI: 145 lbs Weight change since WI: -1.8 lbs I’ve finally broken through the impasse of the last couple of months.
