One week after Remicade!!
Question:
First of all, High to Rena. It, of course, would be nice to say this under better terms, but hold onto your hats people!! I went to see the research nurse today as well as the DOC and it keeps getting better all the time!! By the way, the DOC is involved in the study to verify results. I have about reduced all inflammation!!(tears) I cannot begin to tell all, how this drug at this point, is helping me. there are six of us in this location doing this study and we all are doing well. I am basically pain free except for my wrists that were the worst. They only hurt when I move them wrong or try to do something that I am not really able to. My nodules are also almost painless and they seem to be receding just a bit, not much though. I have the most energy that I have ever had, that I remember anyway. It has been so long it seems! The DOC believes that MTX cause the nodules to grow more, so, maybe getting off of that sometime will help. I must say, I am still on 15mgs of MTX and 7.5 of pred. and 2400mgs of Ibuprofen. MTX once a week, obviously. The others once a day. Man that’s allot of Ibuprofen. However, prior to the infusion, I had NO results as I am getting with Remicade. As I was talking to the nurse, she mentioned that this drug looks like it will be approved by year end. This info from the Centocor rep. that visits the clinic. The rep. also said that once approval is granted, Centocor is going to make this drug available to people, WITHOUT Insurance, for FREE! Now I know, that sounds to good to be true. So, lets see what happens there at this point. Wouldn’t it be great if someone could benefit from this drug without having to worry how to pay. If that becomes reality, my hat is off to this company that would make so many lives better without looking at their bottom line. I am lucky having insurance and all, but there are still allot of people without it. At any rate, with approval, this drug maybe the drug that puts people back on their feet again, so to speak. Another possible development with this drug maybe the treatment of certain heart disease. They think the immune system maybe involved with that nasty problem as well. I do not know anything further on that line. So, it is a wait and see there. I really can’t tell all of you really how it feels, but I truly hope that this drug may benefit many at some time with no long term problems.(tears) Enough for now. I will chat latter on! — (on the back of a passing motorcyclist) If you can read this, my wife fell off!!
