Fishoil?

Question:

Sorry, my calculations were way off.  You should add 9 to 12 grams of monounsaturated fat at each meal to speed up the fat-burning process. JM

Response:

Unless you are deficient in essential oils, fish oil to burn fat is just that, fish oil.  Ask for specifics, metabolic actions, double blind studies and other sources of this information.

Not only that, but you urp up a fishy taste all day long. Ick.

Response:

Most experts agree that .7 to 1.5 grams of added monounsaturated fat at each meal is plenty to speed up the fat-burning

process.   This is very little fat. If my math is correct — which God knows it probably isn’t — that’s about 1 tablespoon of qualifying oil. Lee S..

Response:

I have never heard of using fish oil to burn fat.  Fish oil is very good for you, however, and can help in the prevention of heart disease, among other things.  It is rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an Omega-3 fatty acid. Adding a little fat (monounsaturated) to your diet, however, will help you to burn fat, believe it or not.  Fat causes the release of cholecystokinin (CCK) from the stomach.  This powerful chemical messenger sends "stop eating" signals to the brain, and helps to give you a "satisfied" feeling, thus helping you to eat less.   Also, fat slows down the entry of carbohydrates into the bloodstream, thus lowering your blood insulin levels.   Insulin lowers blood sugar, but what most people don’t know is that it is the primary fat-storing hormone.  When insulin levels get to high, you store fat.  Also, by keeping insulin levels moderate, you burn fat much more effectively, because low insulin levels mean that your body accesses and burns stored fat for energy much more efficiently. BY NO MEANS should you eat excess fat!!  But don’t forget – your body NEEDS fat to function.  Most experts agree that .7 to 1.5 grams of added monounsaturated fat at each meal is plenty to speed up the fat-burning process.   This is very little fat. Good luck JM

Lee Rodgers – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I was given the advice to take fish-oil capsels in order to increase my fatburning while excerecise. Has anyone else done this? How do they work?
