Question:

Saw a show on national TV yesterday afternoon. Carol and Marilyn is sort of a talk show. This show was all about Phen/fen. The doctor representing phen/fen was Dr. Paul Rivas. There was another doctor there, Dr. Ricki… something or other. She was also representing phen/fen. There was another lady from a cheap tabloid in England talking about "all those deaths" using diet pills. Dr. Rivas, said that these people were sick already and when asked if they ever took diet pills, the majority answer "yes". (I think about everyone overweight can say that). He added that more people had died from "asteroids" in the last 20 years than died from diet pills. He also said that so many people have died from heart disease and hypertention caused by overweight because of NOT taking phen/fen. The show was very positive. They had guest on who have lost great amounts of weight on phen/fen.  Even one of the host (Carol or Marilyn) had lost 50 lbs on it. There was one person who claimed to have had a great loss of memory and loss of hair. Her mother who was on there with her stated that she had taken phen/fen also and became "bitchy". When asked if she would continue, the daughter said, "Yes, but with a doctor that will watch more closely for adverse signs." The show may be on later on this week again if you want to catch it. I’ve been on Phen/Fen for 3 months now….Lost 40 lbs I have 60 more to go, and my Dr just gave me a 6 month supply.  He sees me every month, and takes a LOT of notes when he sees me.  I’m only the second person he would prescribe it for. No side effects anymore,….just have to remember to eat.  I feel a lot better than I did in December.   Blood pressure is 120/68,…pulse 77,….blood sugar and colesterol down…so what’s to fear? Dave
